Rockmaster Indonesia Hosts “Tribute to Legend Climber”: Honoring Indonesian Climbing Pioneers
Bogor – Rockmaster Indonesia, an organization representing legendary Indonesian climbers, successfully held the “Tribute to Legend Climber” event on July 12, 2025. Located at Tebing Depan/Kikoja, Klapanunggal Area, Cileungsi, Bogor Regency, this event served as a heartfelt appreciation for the extraordinary dedication of late Indonesian climbing legends in building and developing the sport of rock climbing in the country.
The event specifically presented certificates of appreciation to the families of the late Sandy Febyanto and Deden Sutisna for their invaluable contributions to the Indonesian climbing world. Their dedication paved the way and brought immense benefits to climbers to this day.

“Tribute to Legend Climber” was not only a moment of honor but also a gathering that fostered camaraderie between legendary climbers and the current generation of climbers. The event was attended by veteran climbers, who are pioneers and founders of rock climbing in Indonesia, as well as all Indonesian climbing enthusiasts from various groups, including student nature lovers (sispala), university nature lovers (mapala), and climbing communities/clubs.

Through this event, Rockmaster Indonesia hopes that the current climbing community can get to know the climbing pioneers more closely, learn directly from them, and gain inspiration. It’s hoped that this spirit will encourage current climbers to continue preserving and protecting Indonesia’s natural climbing walls. Furthermore, the activity is also expected to positively impact the local economy around the event site.
