FPTI Boosts Lead and Boulder Strength: Sends Athletes to Krakow & Chamonix World Cups, Plus ASEAN Championships
Jakarta, July 3, 2025 – The Indonesian Sport Climbing Federation (FPTI) continues to demonstrate its serious commitment to building and strengthening Indonesia’s position in international sport climbing. Having actively sent athletes across various disciplines to previous IFSC World Cup 2025 series events, FPTI is once again dispatching a number of top athletes to compete in the IFSC World Cup Krakow (Poland) and Chamonix (France). In addition, FPTI is also sending its Youth National Team to the ASEAN Championships 2025 in Malaysia.
.

The primary focus of these deployments is to boost performance in the Lead and Boulder disciplines, aligning with FPTI’s ambitious target of qualifying athletes for the Lead discipline at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
Positive Trends in Lead and Boulder Potential at IFSC World Cup 2025
This initiative follows the positive trend shown by the Indonesian Lead National Team at the IFSC World Cup Innsbruck 2025. Two male representatives, Muhammad Rizky Syahrafly Simatupang and Putra Tri Ramadani, successfully advanced to the semifinals. Rizky secured 12th place with 42 points, while Putra Tri Ramadani finished 16th with 38+ points. These achievements indicate significant performance improvement, with point totals not far behind the top eight finalists. Rizky had even previously qualified for the final at the IFSC World Cup Bali 2025. Meanwhile, Sukma Lintang Cahyani continues to diligently work on strengthening her performance in the same series.
For the Boulder discipline, although Muhammad Raviandi and Muhammad Ravianto did not yet reach the semifinals or finals at the IFSC World Cups in Bern and Prague, both showed promising performances. They demonstrate strong determination to maintain and enhance their performance on the world stage.
These improvements are expected to build positive momentum that will continue in future series, simultaneously motivating athletes in both Speed and Boulder disciplines to keep striving for greater achievements.
Upcoming Competition Schedule
The main Speed National Team will compete in the IFSC World Cup Krakow 2025 on July 5-6, 2025. Following this, the IFSC World Cup Chamonix 2025 series on July 11-13, 2025, will feature both Lead and Speed disciplines, where Indonesian Lead and Boulder athletes who departed earlier will also compete.
Continuous Development: Sending Youth National Team to ASEAN Championships 2025
In addition to the main National Team, FPTI is also sending its Youth National Team for Lead and Boulder disciplines to participate in the ASEAN Championships 2025 in Putra Jaya, Malaysia, from July 4-6, 2025. This deployment of the youth team is part of a crucial tryout program and preparation for the SEA Games 2025 in Thailand.
The Secretary-General of FPTI, Pristiawan Buntoro, affirmed that sending athletes to various international competitions is a tangible manifestation of FPTI’s commitment. “Sending the Indonesian Sport Climbing National Team to Krakow and Chamonix (IFSC World Cup Series), as well as to Malaysia (ASEAN Championships 2025), demonstrates our seriousness in building the strength of the Indonesian National Team in both Lead and Boulder disciplines. This also aligns with our primary goal of qualifying for the Lead discipline at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics,” stated Pristiawan.
He added, “The positive trend in Lead athletes’ performance at the Innsbruck series is hoped to be an initial stepping stone to continuously boost their confidence, aiming for peak achievements until the Los Angeles 2028 target is met.”
