ASKED TO ENJOY THE GAME, INDONESIAN CLIMBING ATHLETES WIN THREE MEDALS ON THE SECOND DAY OF THE WORLD GAMES 2025 CHENGDU CLIMBING COMPETITION
After on the first day of The World Games 2025 climbing competition Indonesian athletes had not yet succeeded in contributing a medal in the speed discipline for both men’s and women’s individual category, on the second day, Indonesian athletes succeeded in winning 1 silver medal in the men’s event, and 1 gold and 1 bronze in the women’s event in the speed 4 lanes category on Friday afternoon Chengdu time, (15/08).

The silver medal for the men’s event was won by Kiromal Katibin with a time of 4.81 seconds. Meanwhile, another Indonesian male athlete, Raharhati Nursamsa, had not yet succeeded in winning a medal after only finishing in fourth place. The chance for a gold medal in the men’s event was missed after a Chinese athlete succeeded in finishing in first place with a time of 4.74 seconds. He was better than Katibin who finished in second place with 4.81 seconds and Raharhati in fourth place with 5.14 seconds. Meanwhile, the bronze medal was won by Rishat Khaibullin from Kazakhstan who finished with a time of 4.83 seconds
In the women’s event, Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi and Rajiah Sallsabillah each finished in first and third place. With that, Desak succeeded in winning the gold medal and Rajiah won the bronze medal. Meanwhile, the silver medal was won by the host country’s athlete, Qi Yu Mei. Desak came out as the best with a time of 6.35 seconds, better than Qi Yu Mei in second place with 6.42 seconds. Followed by Rajiah in third place with a time of 6.951 seconds and Natalia Kalucka from Poland in fourth place with 6.956 seconds.
Asked to Enjoy the Competition, Indonesian Athletes Gave Their Best
The Indonesian athletes who competed in The World Games 2025 Chengdu were only asked by the coach from the start to enjoy the competition. Nevertheless, the athletes still gave their best. After not getting a single medal in the men’s and women’s individual events, the Indonesian athletes succeeded in getting three medals consisting of 1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze in the men’s and women’s speed four lanes events.
The Head Coach of the Indonesian National Climbing Team, Hendra Basir, from the beginning only asked the athletes to focus on enjoying the competition and not to target anything at The World Games 2025 Chengdu. However, with this result, he is still grateful and proud of his athletes.
“At The World Games 2025, we only targeted to enjoy the competition, not targeting anything. However, with this result, I am very proud of the athletes’ achievements,” he expressed.
