Indonesia Secures 3 More Gold Medals, Reaching a Total of 5 at the 2025 ASEAN Climbing Championship

Putrajaya, Malaysia (Juli 6, 2025) – The Indonesian sport climbing team once again made history on the final day of the 2025 ASEAN Climbing Championship in Putrajaya, Malaysia, on July 6. After winning 2 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal the day before, Indonesia successfully added 3 more gold medals, bringing their total medal count to 5 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze for the entire competition.

The three additional gold medals on the final day were delivered by Alma Ariella Tsany, Nur Ismatul Sakdia, and Ardana Cikal Damarwulan, who each delivered an outstanding performance.

Dominance from Young Indonesian Athletes

Alma Ariella Tsany Wins Gold in Women’s Youth Lead. The talented young athlete, Alma Ariella Tsany, won the gold medal in the Women’s Youth Lead discipline with a perfect score of 50. This marks her first gold medal at the championship and her second medal overall, having previously won a silver in the Women’s Youth Boulder discipline.

Nur Ismatul Sakdia Takes Gold in Women’s Open Boulder, Her Second Medal

Nur Ismatul Sakdia, known as Matul, also excelled by winning the gold medal in the Women’s Open Boulder discipline with a total score of 39.1. Matul faced tough competition from athletes from Singapore and Thailand. This gold medal is her second medal in the competition, following the bronze medal she earned the day before in the Women’s Open Lead discipline.

Ardana Cikal Damarwulan Wins Two Gold Medals, Dominating Two Disciplines

A brilliant performance was also showcased by Ardana Cikal Damarwulan, who won gold in two disciplines at this competition. After winning gold in Men’s Youth Boulder, Cikal delivered his second gold medal in the Men’s Youth Lead discipline. He achieved the highest score of 27+ on the final climb, narrowly beating two finalists from Singapore. Mitchell Charles Boyer Hai Jie (Singapore) won silver with a score of 27, and Dylan Seow Yong Kang (Singapore) took bronze with a score of 25+.

The official delegate, Arie, who accompanied the athletes throughout the championship in Malaysia, stated that this success is the result of the athletes’ hard work and the prayers of the Indonesian people. He extended his deep gratitude to the athletes for their fierce determination during the competition and for the support and prayers of all Indonesians.

“This result is the fruit of their (the athletes’) hard work and persistence as they fought to complete the championship, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the great support and prayers from the Indonesian people,” he concluded.
