IFSC Climbing World Cup Bali 2025 Dimulai

IFSC Climbing World Cup Bali 2025 Begins, Yenny Wahid: I Want Athletes to Compete Without Pressure

The drumbeat of the IFSC Climbing World Cup Bali 2025 officially sounded on Friday (May 2, 2025) at Peninsula Island, Nusa Dua, Bali.

On the first day of the competition, the spotlight was on the Men’s and Women’s Lead categories.

The qualification rounds for both categories began at 2:00 PM Central Indonesia Time (WITA), with Indonesia’s top climbers fighting hard to advance through the qualifications.

President of the Indonesian Climbing Federation (FPTI), Yenny Wahid, expressed hope that the Lead category would bring surprises. She noted significant improvement in Indonesia’s Lead athletes, who have climbed from a world ranking of around 100 to now being in the global top 20.

“In the past, our performance in Lead was still far behind, but now we’ve made a lot of progress. I’m really happy, and I hope Bali brings some miracles so we can take home many medals,” she said.

When asked about medal targets for the Indonesian National Climbing Team, Yenny Wahid emphasized that she didn’t want to burden the athletes.

“This time, I don’t want to put any pressure on our athletes. I want them to compete as freely as possible but still stay focused. But our athletes already know—they set high targets for themselves even without being told,” she stated

“Yenny Wahid doesn’t want to burden the athletes, we do want them to compete with full responsibility and perform well so they can continue to compete with the world’s elite climbers,” she added.

Putu Yudiatmika, who is also the Chairperson of the Bali Provincial Climbing Federation (Pengprov FPTI Bali), specifically called on the people of Bali to support two of Bali’s female athletes—Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi and Kadek Adi Asih—as they compete in the Women’s Speed category at the IFSC Climbing World Cup Bali 2025.
The qualification rounds for the Men’s and Women’s Speed categories begin on Saturday, May 3 at 10:58 AM WITA, with the finals scheduled from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM WITA.
