Successfully Held FPTI National Working Meeting 2024, Producing Strategic Work Programs for 2025
Jakarta – The Indonesian Climbing Federation (FPTI) successfully held the 2024 National Working Meeting (Rakernas) on Tuesday-Wednesday, December 3-4, 2024, at the Royal Kuningan Hotel, Jakarta. A total of 30 out of 33 Provincial Management Boards (Pengprov) attended the annual event, demonstrating high participation in discussing the organization’s strategic direction.
Heru Koyu, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Rakernas FPTI 2024, stated that the attendance of 30 Pengprov reflects the success of the FPTI Central Board in building effective communication with regional administrators.
According to Koyu, who also serves as the Deputy Head of the Organization Division of the FPTI Central Board, FPTI has 33 Pengprov from 38 provinces, 384 District/City Management Boards, and accommodates 2,343 athletes who hold an Athlete Identity Card (KIAT).
“This year’s Rakernas is not only a coordination forum, but also a momentum to formulate strategic work programs to be implemented in 2025,” Koyu explained.
Focus of the 2025 Strategic Program
During the 2024 Rakernas FPTI, various work programs were discussed across strategic sectors for 2025, including:
Development and Achievement Division
– Prioritizing the management of the national training camp (Pelatnas) to support Indonesia’s target for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
– Enhancing athletes’ quality in terms of mental, physical, and competitive aspects.
Competition Division
Improving the competence of judges and route setters to support the quality of national competitions.
Natural Climbing and Recreation Division
Conducting an inventory of natural cliffs in Indonesia to compile a reference book on Indonesia’s natural climbing sites, which will be published in both Indonesian and English.
Host Determination for the National Championship
In addition to work programs, Rakernas FPTI 2024 also determined the host for the 2025 Age Group National Championship (Kejurnas KU). Based on the Rakernas decision, Banten Province was selected as the host and will hold the event no later than June 2025.
The Secretary-General of the FPTI Central Board, Pristiawan Buntoro, hopes that the outcomes of the Rakernas will serve as a milestone for improving climbing sports in Indonesia.
“This Rakernas is expected to be a significant milestone in enhancing the quality of climbing in Indonesia, whether in athlete development, competition growth, or the exploration of Indonesia’s natural potential,” he explained.
